SCU joins AndroidPayTM in Australia

Android Pay is the simple and secure way to pay on mobile devices. It’s available at shops across Australia, wherever NFC payments are accepted.

Ashley Jennings SCU CEO said, “We’re proud to be helping our members tap into exciting new ways to pay. Android Pay gives our members added value by providing another way to use their SCU credit and debit cards to pay for purchases with their mobile devices.”

Pali Bhat, Senior Director, Product Management, Google said, “We're excited to bring the simplicity and security of mobile payments to Android users in Australia. Using Android Pay is more secure  — and much faster — than rummaging through your wallet for a plastic card. Starting today, Aussie shoppers will be able to use Android Pay at almost 800,000 contactless payment terminals across Australia."

With Android Pay, our members can use their Android phones to make purchases in stores and in apps. It offers a fast, simple and secure way to use a card to buy things in-app or in-store—all without pulling out a physical wallet. It’s a secure, mobile purchasing system that works with Android devices running KitKat (4.4) or higher.
